Joven Tempranillo has a deep red color with purple hues. In the scent, it has aromas of red fruit and liqueur, typical of the Tempranillo grape, combined with a hint of roasted nuances from the oak barrel. On the palate, the wine is very pleasant with a fresh acidity, followed by ripe tannins, which give it a persistent aftertaste.
Rioja Joben is made from 100% Tempranillo, from old vineyards of 50 to 70 years old. The vineyards are located in San Vincente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja). The grapes are picked by hand in the second and third week of October. From receipt of the grapes in the cellar, people work with gravity. That means no pumps are used, which is better for the grapes and ultimately the wine. The wine is aged for 6 months in new oak barrels.
Located in the historic village of San Vincente de la Sonsierra, Bodega López de Haro rises above a sea of vineyards, flanked by the Ebro and Sierra de Toloño rivers. The bodega is completely excavated on the side of a mountain. The selection of wines is named after Don Diego López de Haro, founder of the city of Bilbao. Hacienda López de Haro is a series of wines that combine the simplicity and elegance of great classics with today's consumer taste. The terroir in this region is of calcareous clay. This produces a wine with refined freshness and a pleasant length and aftertaste.
