Product description
Passito is the Italian term for wines made from grapes that have been dried in the open air of the vineyard and provides a late harvest with the grapes remaining on the vine until the end of the year, becoming almost raisins. Since 1989, the elegant Passito Comtess has been cherished for its intense fruit, honey notes and soft and creamy body. The taste is aroused by a touch of freshness given by a pronounced acidity. The youthful, fresh flavors become more and more complex with proper bottle aging. This gradually develops into muted notes of honey.
Comtess Passito is made from Gewurztraminer from the vineyards at the foot of Valentin Castle (600m) and Pinzano / Montagna (330m) facing southeast. The soil here consists of limestone gravel. This Guyot Vine has an age of 20 years. The grapes are harvested in mid-December. The currants and raisins are pressed, partly fermented in stainless steel tanks and partly in small wood and then matured. The storage potential of this wine is at least 20 years.
